Greenland was part of the Precambrian continent of Laurentia. Its geologic history is long and rich and has produced fantastic histories in the rock. East of Nuuk, Greenland’s capital, are rocks over three billion years old, containing the world’s oldest rocks, including Greenlandite, formed 3.8 billion years ago.
