When I was young, younger than I should have been to know what I was talking about, I made a pact with myself that I would travel to the Earth’s beautiful places and take photos of them before they were destroyed so that people who came after me would at least be able to see what had been lost. Now, the land is being destroyed and species are disappearing at a rate I could not have imagined—even as I write this, even as you read this. I haven’t been able to keep up.
But, I’ve done my best. As the years have gone by, I’ve become a better and more discerning photographer. More than that, my ability to perceive the intricate, beautiful, and diverse life that is the Earth has grown and deepened with each year. Photography has helped me develop acceptance and outrage. My hope is that you will look at these photos and see something that interests and inspires you, something you want to learn about, and mostly, something you want to protect.
